#TeachGirlsToCook

I just have to post something about "young women knowing how to cook". Why? Because I know a young woman who knows some young women who do not know how to cook. I really believe that "if you don't have time to teach your children how to cook, let them watch the food network". Really. Let them watch you cook. Let them practice, practice, practice in the kitchen.

When my older girls were coming up, I let them cook and bake freely. I did not have any limitations on the kitchen. I let them make messes. I let them experiment. They learned by doing. They learned by watching me. They learned by watching their dad.

So, that is my sunshine tip for this day - Let the children cook! Let them practice and experiment in the kitchen.

"Our sisters often do not know how to cook. To such I would say, I would go to the very best cook that could be found in the country, and remain there if necessary for weeks, until I had become mistress of the art—an intelligent, skillful cook. I would pursue this course if I were forty years old. It is your duty to know how to cook, and it is your duty to teach your daughters to cook." -4Testimonies For The Church 2:370.

Eco Styler Gel

Okay...so I am back with ECO styler gel. Having recently relocated, I haven't had a whole lot of time and this product has said "I got you"! I have been wearing my hair in a curly high puff...I just wash it and "denman" brush it back and put it in a stretchy band and add ECO styler gel and that's it.

So, Eco styler gel is a keeper. It is just so wonderful for my lifestyle right now.

Terri Clay - A Natural Woman Speaks

Meet Terri Clay, a 40something Motivational Speaker

What is your occupation? I am an Entrepreneur, Motivational Speaker and Author.

What is your age? 43

What do you do to maintain a healthy lifestyle? I have lost about 60 pounds in the last year or so. I cut back and started eating smaller portions. I don't eat pork or scavengers.

Do you exercise? Yes. I am a runner and have done 2 10k's, a half marathon and a triathalon. My next goal is to run an obstacle course type run.

What is your fitness routine? I am a runner and run about 3 miles when I do run. I am starting to run regularly in order to train for the obstacle course run in October of 2012.

Why have you chosen to wear your hair natural? Actually, I prayed to brand my look as a motivational speaker. I was wearing a lace front wig. My daughter told me my hair was damaged from wearing the wig, so I told them to cut it off like my brothers... lol! I went home and added some Jazz to it and voila! el natural and a branded look.

What do you like best about your natural hair? It is sooooo easy to maintain! I get my hair cut every 3 weeks and color it with hair bleach the same day. I dont need many products to put in my hair. The upkeep is minimal.

What products do you like best? I only use shea butter just to lay it down when its starting to grow out. Other than shea butter, I don't need much products. I wash and condition my hair when taking a bath but its just to lay it down flat other than that no products needed

What does your diet look like? I eat really whatever I want BUT I watch my portions! As I said before, I lost 60 pounds by cutting back and eating better. So I went from eating many meals to virtually eating smaller portions about twice a day along with exercise.

Are you a mom? If so what do you most want to teach your children? Yes, I am a mother of 4 children. They are all adults.

I taught them to:

1. Love yourself,
2. Be confident and full of courage,
3. To make life happen NO MatterWhat
4. To never Quit or Give up,
5. To AIM High To Get High (meaning to advance in life)

I must have also taught them to have natural looks because my sons have locks as well as one of my daughters.

Describe your personal style? I consider myself "a diva" --the kind of person that likes to get her hair, nails and lashes done. Just a girly type of girl.

What is most important to you at this stage in your life?

1. Living on purpose
2. Being the person that God created me to be.
3. To continue doing my assignment.

I moved to ATL about 3 years ago with the assignment to help people live on purpose and empower them to greatness!! The move gave me more than I bargined for. It (the move)stripped me of everything I owned. But, God had a plan.
